MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE EVENTS COMMITTEE
Held on Friday, 10 April 2026 from 11.00am at the Old Coastguard Station, Anderby Road, Chapel St Leonards, PE24 5XA

EC/01/04-26 Chair’s Welcome.
Cllr C. Briggs (Chair) welcomed everyone present to the meeting and thanked them for attending.
EC/02/04-26 Apologies for Absence.
None received.
EC/03/04-26 To receive Declarations of Interest in agenda items under the Localism Act 2011 – being any pecuniary interest in agenda items not previously recorded on Members’ Register of Interests.
None received.
EC/04/04-26 To receive and approve the draft minutes of the Events Committee Meeting held on 6 March 2026.
The minutes of the Events Committee Meeting held on 6 March 2026 were unanimously approved and signed by the Chair, Cllr C. Briggs.
EC/05/04-26 Stall Update
There have been a few enquiries regarding the stalls. The Assistant Clerk will send emails to the stallholders last year to see if they require a stall this year. She will update at the next meeting. Some payments have been made for stalls. The Clerk gave the Chairman, Cllr C. Briggs a map of the Village Green showing where the stalls were placed the previous year.
EC/06/04-26 Poster Approval
The Chairman, Cllr C. Briggs produced a poster from a previous year of the Summer Fun Festival with the date of the festival updated. This was unanimously approved by the members of the Events Committee.
EC/07/04-26 Token of Day Out – Ideas.
The Chairman, Cllr C. Briggs suggested a small flag for the children to hold as a souvenir of their day out at Chapel St Leonards. This was unanimously approved by members of the Events Committee. The Clerk to acquire a sample.
EC/08/04-26 Singer Performance Times – Andy to Update.
After a discussion, Andy of Popcorn Media will produce a timetable of performances for both days. He will source extra entertainment and provide a quote for the cost.
