MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE EVENTS COMMITTEE
Held on Thursday, 26 June 2025 from 10.00am at the Church Hall, Church Lane, Chapel St Leonards, PE25 5UJ

EC01/06-25 Chair’s Welcome
Cllr S. Whitmore (Chair) welcomed all present to the meeting and thanked them for attending.
EC02/06-25 Apologies for absence.
None received.
EC03/06-25 To receive Declarations of Interest in agenda items under the Localism Act 2011 – being any pecuniary interest in agenda items not previously recorded on Members’ Register of Interests.
None received.
EC04/06-25 To receive and approve the draft minutes of the Events Committee Meeting held on 5 June 2025.
The minutes of the Events Committee Meeting held on 5 June 2025 were unanimously approved and signed by the Chair, Cllr S. Whitmore.
EC05/06-25 Update on Summer Fun Festival
Cllr S. Whitmore discussed her progress so far in organising the events for the Summer Fun Festival. She will produce a programme soon.
The poster dates need to be changed and the events at the festival will be added. The banner from the previous year will be updated and a new banner ordered if it is not suitable for this year.
EC06/06-25 Lightwave Evening.
Cllr S. Whitmore announced that there will be a Lightwave Event on Friday, 24 October 2025 at Chapel St Leonards. This will include a fire garden, illuminations, projections, and performances to celebrate the area’s heritage and culture. This is a free Event which will ‘light up’ Chapel St Leonards.
The Arts Council through its National Portfolio Organisation Project has supported other projects in Mablethorpe and Sutton-on-Sea.
