MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE FINANCE COMMITTEE
Held on Tuesday, 2 June 2026 from 9.00am at The Old Coastguard Station, Anderby Road, Chapel St Leonards, PE24 5XA

FC/01/06-26 Chair’s Welcome
Cllr C. Jude (Chair) welcomed all present to the Finance Committee Meeting and thanked them for attending.
FC/02/06-26 Apologies for Absence
None received.
FC/03/06-26 To receive Declarations of Interest in agenda items under the Localism Act 2011 – being pecuniary interest in agenda items not previously recorded on Members’ Register of Interests.
None received.
FC/04/06-26 To receive and approve the draft minutes of the Finance Committee Meeting held on 5 May 2026.
The minutes of the Finance Committee Meeting held on 5 May 2026 were proposed by Cllr C. Briggs and seconded by Cllr C. Naylor approved and signed by the Chair, Cllr C. Jude.
FC/05/06-26 Internal Verifier’s Report
We received the Internal Verifier’s Report for 2025/2026, but the Clerk stated that the Notice of Public Rights and the Internal Verifier’s Report were placed on the webpage for the year 2024/2025. She will contact the Internal Verifier to correct this.
FC/06/06-26 AGAR
The AGAR will be signed by the Chairman and the Clerk at the next Full Council Meeting on 8 June 2026.
FC/07/06-26 Budget Increases.
There was a discussion on the budget for the Events Committee. The Clerk will compile the exact figures for the next Finance Meeting.
FC/08/06-26 VAT Update
The Clerk informed the Finance Committee that she cannot claim VAT until 30 June 2026 but so far to reclaim is £1,300.00 and the figure we owe is £616.00.
FC/09/06-26 Date and time of next Finance Committee Meeting.
