MINUTES OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND AMENITIES

COMMITTEE MEETING

Held on Tuesday, 2 June 2026 at The Old Coastguard Station, Anderby Road, Chapel St Leonards, PE24 5XA

EA/01/06-26    Chair’s Welcome

EA/02/06-26      Apologies for Absence.

None received.

EA/03/06-26      To receive Declarations of Interest in agenda items under the Localism Act 2011 – being any pecuniary interest in agenda items not previously recorded on Members’ Register of Interests.

None received.

EA/04/06-26   To receive and approve the draft minutes of the Environment and Amenities Committee Meeting held on 5 May 2026.

The minutes of the Environment and Amenities Committee Meeting held on 5 May 2026 were proposed by Cllr C. Briggs and seconded by Cllr. C. Naylor.  They were unanimously approved and signed by the Chair, Cllr C. Jude.

EA/05/06-26      Discussion on Shop Premises.

A Legal Advice company attended the meeting to discuss leasing the shop.  There was a discussion regarding the lease which will be £5,400.00 per year, £450.00 per month and £500.00 bond plus the first month’s rent. This agenda item will be taken to the Full Council Meeting on Monday, 8 June 2026 to be resolved.

EA/06/06-26     Discussion on Seafront Café.

There had been a break-in at the Seafront Café.  A broken tap which had caused flooding, had to be replaced. It was discussed that the Clerk research quotes for roller shutters and a sliding window.  This will be an agenda item for the next Full Council Meeting to be held on Monday, 8 June 2026 to be resolved.
