MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE
ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE

AC26/05-24 Chair’s Welcome
Cllr Robinson thanked the Cllrs for their on-going support and welcomed everyone to the meeting.
AC27/05-24 Apologies for absence

AC28/05-24 Declarations of Interest
None
AC29/05-24 To resolve as minutes the record of the meeting on 18 April 2024
RESOLVED and signed by the Chair.
AC30/05-24 To receive an update on the seating area to the rear of the beach café, amphitheatre painting.
The Proper Officer updated the committee on the masonry work that needed to be done before painting and that this would take place within the next week, weather permitting. The proper officer then told the committee that the paints had been purchased and the colours purchased were red, yellow, green and blue and were in her garage. Discussions followed about the colours purchased as the committee had not voted previously on these colours. The proper officer informed committee that some of the colours had been mixed and there could be no refund on mixed paint.
There was no vote taken to agree to this and therefore no resolution reached.
AC31/05-24 To discuss the ship in the centre of the village and the bow of this (lady).
Handyman (Mark) replaced the wooden fingers of the lady as they were weathered and rotten. The lady was scrubbed and painted with dark wood preserve and the plinth that is attached to this will also be completed this week along with the bench.
AC32/05-24 To receive an update on the village defibrillators.
Cllr Donovan updated the defibrillator at the village hall and Cllr Christie-Smith updates the one at Point Store Newsagents, these are all up to date.
AC33/05-24 To discuss a What’s On style Village poster.
The monthly magazine is no longer in publication and many villagers and visitors do not know what is happening in the village, there is usually something going on each day. Cllr Holmes has asked if a What’s On style poster can be produced on a monthly basis initially covering churches, village hall, church hall, Parish Council meetings and also one for yearly events to cover the carnival, family fun weekend, Christmas. Once people know about these other organisations may wish to go on the poster.
It was RESOLVED that the What’s On posters be done by Cllr Holmes and will begin in June.
AC34/05-24 To receive an update on the waste land on Sea Road near the Village Hall.
The Proper Officer had a land registry search completed and this area is what is referred to a no man’s land. It was RESOLVED that the Parish Council tidy this area and clear it of weeds, waste grass and debris. The work will be caried out next week.
AC35/05-24 To receive an update on the Chalet Inspection.
The annual Chalet Inspection took place and overall, they are in good order, the invoices for the ground rent have been delivered along with any requests for repair work. The Chalet that is in the most disrepair is in hand.
AC36/05-24 To receive an update on the Parish Council’s Facebook and website pages.
The Proper Officer will update the website by next week and complete Facebook information when a password to the page is issued.
AC24/03-24 To discuss the plaques appearing on village benches.
It was reported that there are an increased number of plaques appearing on the benches along the sea wall. The Proper Officer is to count them and remove them where able to, this item is to be discussed further at the next meeting in June.
AC25/03-24 To resolve the date of the next Administration Committee meeting.
Resolved as Thursday 27 June at 11.30am.
