MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE
ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE

AC39/05-24 Chair’s Welcome
Cllr Robinson thanked the Cllrs for their on-going support and welcomed everyone to the meeting.
AC40/05-24 Apologies for absence
No apologies for absence received.
AC41/05-24 Declarations of Interest
None
AC42/05-24 To resolve as minutes the record of the meeting on 16 May 2024
RESOLVED and signed by the Chair.
AC43/05-24 To resolve the Administration Committee’s change of name.
It was RESOLVED to change the name of the Administration Committee to Environment and Amenities to be known as E&A Committee, voted by four members with one abstention. Motion carried.
AC44/05-24 To discuss the amphitheatre renovation work and painting colours.
The painting and renovation work has been scheduled for mid-September, weather permitting. It was RESOLVED to keep the area to one colour and that colour to be Ivorystone – Sandtex M6038059, to be purchased when needed.
AC45/05-24 To discuss the MUGA – funding obtained from the GrassRoots Community Grant.
Cllr Robinson stated that we had £2000 funding from GrassRoots to spend on the netting for the MUGA, this needs further investigation. It was agreed that Cllrs meet with Mark (Handyman) and discuss options.
AC46/05-24 To receive the social media and Communications Policy for CSL and sign.
This was deferred to be discussed at full council on 08 July 2024.
It was RESOLVED that the What’s On posters be done by Cllr Holmes and will begin in June.
AC47/05-24 To discuss the What’s On Village poster.
The What’s On poster had been produced by Cllr Holmes June. Cllr Holmes wanted it to be more eye catching and ‘jazzed up’. There was a brief discussion, and it was RESOLVED to carry on with the poster as it is and for information only.
AC48/05-24 To receive an update on the Lifeguard’s hut, beach huts and work done thereon.
The clerk will now ask the Environment Agency if they have any information of ownership of the unit, we have tried all other avenues of enquiry. The clerk will also ask about painting the unit as it is currently covered in graffiti.
AC36/05-24 To discuss plaques.
Plaques (commemorative) are appearing all along the seawall and benches, causing damage to both and looking unsightly. The clerk is to contact the Environment Agency to obtain permission to remove them. There are also plastic flowers being attached to railings on a regular basis, the clerk is to reinforce with operatives that these must be taken down and disposed of as they cause a threat to the environment and sea life.
AC37/03-24 To resolve the date of the next Administration Committee meeting.
Resolved as Thursday 25 July at 10:00am.
