MINUTES OF ENVIRONMENT AND AMENITIES COMMITTEE MEETING
Held on Thursday, 15 May 2025 at 10.30am

EA01/05-25 Election of Chair.
Cllr P. Robinson was duly elected as the Chair of the Environment and Amenities Committee.
EA02/05-25 Chair’s Welcome.
The Chair, Cllr P. Robinson welcomed all present to the meeting and thanked them for attending.
EA03/05-25 Apologies for absence.
None received.
EA04/05-25 To receive declarations of interest in agenda items under the Localism Act 2011 – being pecuniary interest in agenda items not previously recorded on Members’ Register of Interests.
None received.
EA05/05-25 To receive and approve the draft minutes of the Environment and Amenities Committee Meeting held on 24 April 2025.
The minutes of the Environment and Amenities Committee Meeting were approved and signed by the Chair, Cllr P. Robinson.
EA06/05-25 Goal Posts Update.
The Clerk/RFO has ordered the goal post. One of the Operatives will be consulted on regarding the layout of the pitch and where the goal posts will be placed
EA07/05-25 Quotes for fencing update.
We are awaiting quotes from companies for the renewal of fencing around the village green. These will be aluminium powder coated and like for like. The aim is to get the work started at the end of season.
EA08/05-25 Amphitheatre
This area has been cleared and just waiting for plants to be chosen and purchased.
There are five curves. We have agreed to have 5 Mediterranean plants and other plants put into the planters. The gardener and the operatives will purchase the plants from the garden centre. There is an agreed spend for these plants.
The paint needs replacing and waterproofing. We are awaiting quotes. Cllr C. Jude will visit the site.
EA09/05-25 Benches.
It was agreed that there were sufficient benches around the village. It was suggested that a bench should be placed on the pullover but will have to be researched. It was RESOLVED to have a bench on the pullover that is acrylic. Benches in the cemetery were discussed. This will be discussed further at the next Cemetery Committee meeting.
EA10/05-25 Exercise gym in playpark
The Clerk/RFO has contacted a company and arranging a site visit to see where the location will be and the cost. It was suggested to have these on bases. This could be part of the S106 money. A funding application will be in place for a monkey climbing wall and a target wall for the playpark and hope the council is successful.
EA11/05-25 The Hut – Graffiti Container.
This area has been strimmed and cleared. It was suggested to have acrylic benches. On one side of the three steps a metal rail is needed. It will be an area to sit and look at the sea view.
EA12/05-25 Date and time of next Environment and Amenities Meeting.
