MINUTES OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND AMENITIES COMMITTEE
MEETING
Held on Thursday, 2nd October 2025 from 9.00am at the Church Hall, Church Lane, Chapel St Leonards, PE25 5UJ

EA/01/10-25 Chair’s Welcome.
Cllr P. Robinson (Chair) welcomed all present to the meeting and thanked them for attending.
EA/02/10-25 Apologies for Absence.
None received.
EA/03/10-25 To receive Declarations of Interest in agenda items under the Localism Act 2011 – being any pecuniary interest in agenda items not previously recorded on Members’ Register of Interests.
None received.
EA/04/10-25 To receive and approve the draft minutes of the Environment and Amenities Committee Meeting held on 11 September 2025.
The minutes of the Environment and Amenities Committee meeting held on 11 September 2025 were unanimously approved and signed by the Chair, Cllr P. Robinson.
EA/05/10-25 Car Parking Signage.
The signs have been renewed and up to date with parking charges.
EA/06/10-25 Access Step Neat Feet Update.
The Clerk will send an email to Neat Feet stating that the step must be removed for health and safety reasons.
EA/07/10-25 Renovation Work Update
Cllr C. Jude stated that one post was in place on the Village Green and work will start next week. The work on the amphitheatre requires a permit which is being organised.
EA/08/10-25 Trunch Lane Car Park
There is a request by a local company for the use of the car park in Trunch Lane to carry out construction work from October 2025 until March 2026. The Chapel St Leonards Parish Council agreed to give permission.
EA/09/10-25 Memorial Bench Seafront Request.
The Clerk has had several requests for memorial benches along the seafront. She has sent an email to the Environment Agency requesting permission to erect a memorial bench on the seafront.

EA/10/10-25 Lightwaves
The Chairman, Cllr P. Robinson will meet with the Lightwaves organiser at 4.00pm on 9 October 2025 to discuss a meeting room for lost children on the day of the Lightwaves event.
EA11/10-25 Beach Buddy
Beach Buddy had been invited to Councillors’ Surgery by the Chairman, Cllr P. Robinson, which they attended. Cllr C. Briggs and Cllr S. Whitmore were also in attendance. Beach Buddy requested to site a container on the beach near Trunch Lane to store wheelchairs for access to the beach for children and adults with disabilities. Unfortunately, The Chapel St Leonards Parish Council was unable to help and advised that the Environment Agency should be contacted in this matter.
