CHAPEL ST LEONARDS PARISH COUNCIL

MINUTES OF THE ENVIRONMENT & AMENITIES MEETING

Held on Thursday, 27 February 2025 at 11.00pm at the

Church Hall, Chapel Lane, Chapel St Leonards.

 

Present:    Cllr P. Robinson (Chair), Cllr D. Wilson, Cllr S. Whitmore, Cllr C. Briggs and Cllr B. Holmes

Assistant Parish Clerk:  Mrs. V.A. Worley

 

EAC/01/02-25     Chair’s welcome

Cllr P. Robinson (Chair) welcomed everyone to the meeting and thanked them for attending.

EAC/02/02-25     Apologies for absence.

None.

EAC/03/02-25     Declaration of pecuniary interests not already registered and to consider any dispensation.

None received.

EAC/04/02-25    To receive and approve the draft minutes of the Environment and Amenities Committee Meeting held on 16 January 2025.

EAC/05/02-25     Voice recorder for Clerk.        

It was RESOLVED that the Assistant Parish Clerk should purchase a voice recorder to be used at meetings of the Chapel St Leonards Parish Council.  Cllr C. Briggs proposed, and Cllr B. Holmes seconded the resolution.

EAC/06/02-25     Section S106 Funding – Public Consultation and putting a wish list together.

This issue had already been discussed at Full Council Meeting and 3 proposals had been forwarded to ELDC.  Additional to S106 money which the Council could look into were ‘Benches around the village and Picnic benches for the playpark’.

EAC/07/02-25     Wren sign at playpark.

It was RESOLVED unanimously that the Wren sign at the playpark be removed as it has depleted.  Cllr B. Holmes proposed, and Cllr C. Briggs seconded this resolution.

EAC/08/02-25     PSPO

This was discussed at the Committee meeting.

EAC/09/02-25     MUGA update.

Works have now been completed.  The Final Impact Statement has been sent to Grassroots.

EAC/10/02-25     Steel Storage Update.

Discussions took place at the Committee meeting on removal of storage unit going forward.

EAC/11/02-25     Goal Posts Update

Cllr D. Wilson and Cllr C. Briggs to research goal posts and prices.

EAC/12/02-25     Beach Chalet Inspection.

The beach chalet inspection will be carried out on 19 March 2025 at 9.30am.

EAC/13/02-25     Amphitheatre condition – discussion.

It was RESOLVED by full committee to obtain three quotes by external contractors to repair and enhance the amphitheatre.

EAC/14/02-25     Date and time of next E & A Committee Meeting.
