Minutes Of The Meeting Of The Environment & Amenities Committee
Thursday 19th March 2020 at 1.30 pm

2. Declarations Of Interest

3. Chapel St Leonards Sea Wall & Beach
A report on the condition of the sea Wall & Beach had been sent out to Councillors before the
Meeting which was discussed in length
It was agreed that arrangements would be made to cut back, remove sand and clean the seats
On the sea front, Cllr Barrs will speak to the staff next week
It was noted that Cllr Mrs King litter picks the beach
4. Cutting Back On The Sea Front
The cost of using a contractor will be £600 + Vat, it was proposed by Cllr Barrs, seconded by Cllr Mrs King and unanimously agreed that the arrangements should be made for the contractor
to start the work as soon as possible, and that the purchase of a cutter tool for the Avant
should be deferred.
5 Village Green
a) Damage to the Green by electric buggies
It was proposed by Cllr Mrs King and unanimously agreed that the seats on the green are moved
To stop the buggies having a direct route
b) Hanging Baskets on the Green – the Clerk was asked to enquire as to whether ELDC would
provide hanging baskets for the green
c) Planters – The Clerk
The Clerk reported that there are still a few planters for rent. It was also agreed that the
Planters would in future be planted with perennial plants, so there is cover all year round
6. Application For A Chalet/ Beach Hut – The Clerk
There is a gap next to Chalet 26 where 2 bases could be sited. The Clerk has received an
offer from an interested party that he lays both bases in return for taking on one of the
bases for himself. The Council agreed that as there was a long waiting list and the interested party was
not on it, it was not an option.
7. Chapel Point – White List – The Clerk
The White indicates, by registration numbers, the cars parked in the carpark who do not
Require parking tickets. Included in the lease of the Seascape Café and the Coast watch
are 2 spaces, Lincolnshire County Council purchase 2 season tickets for the Gallery.
At any one time the Coast watch have approx. 10 registration numbers on their list, and the list is
being constantly amended, which costs extra work for the Clerk and the Parking Company.
It was unanimously agreed that the Clerk should advise Coast watch that the list should be
e limited to 4 registration numbers.
