3. To Discuss The Costs Of The Public Conveniences

Costings had been sent to the Councillors before the meeting, and were available at the meeting for members of the public. A Copy is attached to the minutes.

Discussed in detail.

For the Parish Council to run the conveniences we would require 2 part-time staff, an increase in the Clerks hours (for managing them) and purchase all the consumables

Ancaster Public conveniences – it was agreed that there should be no changes

Chapel Point – Last year the public conveniences were left open later in the year, to assess the usage, which was minimal. The NSO has reduced its opening hours in the winter, therefore their conveniences are only open between 10 am & 3 pm

Trunch Lane, if closed there could be a health issue.

They could be opened just in the main Season

South Road – is opened, cleaned & Closed by the operatives.

To reopen this year each toilet block requires some work to be carried out, South Road requires a great deal of work and might not be cost effective -Clerk will cost out.

The Clerk has negotiated with the cleaning company and they will take on the locking of the Play Park during the season, at no extra cost

It was proposed by Cllr Yaxley, seconded Cllr Hibbert-Greaves and unanimously agreed that the following recommendations should be made to Full Council

Trunch Lane should only open in the school holidays.

Chapel Point should be opened at Easter and closed in September

Ancaster Road should remain open all year round with free pay in the winter months

Cllr Evans proposed, seconded by Cllr Hibbert-Greaves and unanimously agreed that the caravan sites should be approached for donations to assist with the running of Trunch Lane
