DRAFT MINUTES OF THE EXTRA-ORDINARY PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
7.00pm on the 27 April 2023 at the Church Hall
Present: Cllr Ged Dalton (Chair), Cllr P. Robinson (Vice Chair), Cllr P. Hamilton, Cllr S. Whitmore, Cllr C Jude, Cllr Festim (Bob) Doko, and Cllr David Simmons

Public Participation
No members of the public (MOP) attended the meeting.
23/201 Apologies for Absence
Apologies were received and accepted from Cllr Caroline Seabrooke.
23/202 Declarations of Pecuniary Interests not already registered.
None
23/203 To discuss and resolve the Parish Council operatives’ vehicle situation.
Cllr Jude met with Jon Maskrey, Senior Operative to discuss the type of vehicle and the work it is expected to do. As a result of this meeting Cllr Jude contact two of his reputable suppliers, John Darke Ltd had a Ble Ford Ranger 4X4 Tdci with tax and 85430 miles for £13,995 on the road. As all members of the Finance Committee were present, they had RESOLVED to spend up to £15,000. It was further RESOLVED to purchase the vehicle from John Darke Ltd on the basis that it would be easy to get parts, the price was good for the vehicle, and it would last at least four years, the proviso was that Jon Maskrey would test drive it on Friday 28 April and if it was deemed to be okay, we could pay for it.
The Piaggio, ‘Chappie’ would be kept in use for the handyman and used until it was no longer viable to repair it.
23/204 To confirm the staffing advertisement and conditions for employment.
It was RESOLVED to advertise for a cleaner and keep the advert up on the Council noticeboards for one week and thereafter interview candidates and if suitable offer employment.
23/205 To remind everyone of the next meeting of 15 May 2023.
The next meeting is the Annual Parish Council Meeting taking place on 15 May 2023, 7pm, Village Hall.
