MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE EVENTS COMMITTEE

Held on Thursday, 6 November 2025  from 12.00pm at the Church Hall, Church Lane, Chapel St Leonards, PE24 5UJ

Present:   Cllr S. Whitmore (Chair), Cllr P. Robinson, Cllr C. Briggs

EC/01/11-25     Chair’s Welcome.

Cllr S. Whitmore (Chair) welcomed all present to the meeting and thanked them for attending.

EC/02/11-25     Apologies for Absence.

None received.

EC/03/11-25   To receive Declarations of Interest in agenda items under the Localism Act 2011 – being any pecuniary interest in agenda items not previously recorded on Members’ Register of Interests.

None received.

EC/04/11-25      To receive and approve the draft minutes of the Events Committee Meeting held on 11 September 2025.

The minutes of the Events Committee Meeting held on 11 September 2025 were unanimously approved and signed by the Chair, Cllr S. Whitmore.

EC/05/11-25     Remembrance Day.

Everything is organised for Remembrance Day.  We will meet at 10.00am.

EC/06/11-25     Xmas lights Switch On.

  1. Can we purchase a voucher for Blakey £50.00

It was agreed to purchase a £50.00 voucher.

  1. Discuss lighting on tree and around village green plus extra lights for choir.

All lights to be swirtched onbefore 4.30pm except Christmas tree.

  1. Reindeer purchase.

The Clerk to purchase set of three reindeers from Amazon.

  1. Date for wrapping presents.

Start at 10.30am

  1. Update on Chapel Belles
  2. Mulled wine and mince pies.

There will be mulled wine and mince pies.

  1. Kids pops.
  2. Elf

To be organised.

  1. Stalls on day.

There will be 6 gazebos.

EC/07/11-25     Poster for Xmas.

Clerk will organise a poster for the event.

EC/08/11-25     Timings for Xmas.

  1. Lights on before 4.30pm except Christmas tree.
  2. 4.15pm music playing.
  3. 4.30pm Children arrive and they stand behind barriers
  4. 4.30pm carol singing around Christmas tree.
  5. 4.45pm Lights switch on with count down and children singing.
  6. 5.00pm Santa arrives.
  7. 5.00pm Choir sings.
