CC04/09-24 To resolve as minutes the record of the meeting held on 27 June 2024

The minutes were RESOLVED and signed by the Chair.

CC05/09-24 Update on the plaques

The original person making the plaques to denote the row numbers is no longer able to fulfil this due to ill health. The Clerk is to ask Alpha Memorials if they are to complete this order for us, and the Clerk will get a refund from Cherished Memorials for the £743 paid to date.

CC06/09-24 Update on cemetery repairs re: path

It is not possible for the operatives to complete the path repairs as it requires equipment that the Council does not have. Cllr Whitmore will consult with Sue Green/Carol for their minutes whereby it is believed that we will share the cost and ask for quotes from Mr Robert Aldrich.

CC07/09-24 To discuss the planting of trees and shrubs along the border with the vicarage

The Vicarage has recently been sold and the new owners have taken the hedges out and put fencing up within their boundaries. It was suggested that people but a tree in aid of their loved ones or donate money to buy one. So far there are four or five people willing to buy a tree. These trees will provide screening especially if bushes are planted between each tree. This will give peace and quiet whilst visiting loved ones. Cllr Whitmore will consult with the Church Council and report back at the next meeting.

CC08/09-24 To discuss the amount of cremation plots

The Church Cemetery is running out of cremation plots; we have 28 remaining. A new area will need to be designated for this.

CC09/09-24 To discuss the use of concrete bases for graves

The Clerk mentioned concrete bases for graves making the lines uniform and easy to mow round. The Clerk is to get quotes for these and to send pictures to Councillors.

The Clerk will send the cemetery plot map to all councillors.

CC10/09-24 Update on grass cutting re: cost and number of cuts to date

Between April and October there have been eleven cuts and therefore we have five remaining to be done. The church make a donation towards this, and the Clerk will issue an invoice for any outstanding payments.

The Clerk is to send the grass cutting schedule to all Councillors, along with a copy of the contract.

CC11/09-24 To resolve the date of the next Cemetery committee meeting

RESOLVED as Thursday 31 October 2024, 10:00, Church Hall.

Having concluded the agenda, the meeting was adjourned at 10:54.
