MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE EVENTS COMMITTEE
Wednesday 19th April 2023 at 1:00pm at the
Church Hall, Church Lane, Chapel St Leonards

EC1/04-23 Chair’s Welcome
The Chair welcomed the committee members
EC2/04-23 Apologies for Absence
Apologies were accepted from Cllr Christie-Smith. No apologies were received from Cllr Doko or Jude.
EC3/04-23 Declarations of Interest
None
EC4/04-23 To resolve as minutes the record of the meeting held on 6th March 2023
The minutes were RESOLVED and signed by the Chair
EC5/04-23 To discuss and receive an update on the Summer Festival
• Booking of stalls: bookings coming in, need to chase up two who were interested but had not yet booked.
• Booking of entertainment: confirmed those already booked, took a suggestion of another live music option as well (Deputy Clerk will email for more information). The committee RESOLVED to hire the Alford Silver Band to play on the Saturday for one hour- deputy clerk to finalise this. Chair Whitmore advised the Sunday Blue Anchor slot would consist of a performance, not a pantomime. The deputy clerk will update draft leaflets accordingly.
• Staff Rota: those present nominated themselves for times to man the councillor tent; the deputy clerk will assign absent councillors to times still needing filled. The members expressed a wish to have photo ID issued by the office which the deputy clerk will undertake. Councillors to email her a selfie and she will contact those who were absent for same.
• Financial update: Just over £4000 has been committed to the festival thus far.
EC6/04-23 To resolve the date of the next Events committee meeting

Having concluded the agenda, the meeting was adjourned at 2:00pm.
